"Thanks" to those of you who were able to be at "Back to School Night". It was fun meeting you all. We are off and running in Kindergarten. Your children are learning how to write their names - "the kindergarten way". They are writing in their journals and reading their writing to each other. They are identifying shapes and numerals and are enjoying counting forwards and backwards on the Smart Board. This week they will bring home their "Book Baggies". Please keep them handy so your child can add books to the baggie as we make new books in class. Have your child read books from the "Book Baggie" to you every day. Remember, children learn to read by reading!

Our first full week of school will be full of reading, writing, singing, sorting, and practicing the West Field Code - Be respectful. Be responsible. Be ready to learn.
Tuesday evening, August 24, is BACK TO SCHOOL NIGHT. Parents, this evening is for you! We will discuss the ABC's of Kindergarten, and hopefully, answer any questions you may have concerning our curriculum and the expectations for your children. It should be a fun, informative evening.
See you Tuesday evening from 6:00-6:45 PM in our classroom.
